We find ourselves in the days leading up to Tisha B’Av: our day of great communal mourning for the destruction of our Temples and for the tragedies that have followed the Jewish people throughout time. On Tisha B’Av we have been given a beautiful tool, a time to lament, to mourn and to be fully in our despair so we may emerge renewed.
You are invited to join us for an evening of lamenting, we will read excerpts from the book of Lamentations and from other mourning texts as we meditate together on the state of our world. If you have a text, whether biblical or contemporary that you would like to read, please feel free to bring it along.
We will be gathering in Prestwich with Rabbi Robyn, meeting at 19h45 and starting promptly at 20h00. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please arrive on time – because this is an emotionally charged and intimate event, we would like to respect the space once we have begun.
