Led by Rabbi Robyn Ashworth-Steen, a four week course on exploring Torah text to create social change. For Jewish social action initiatives we often quote the uplifting passages of the Torah but in this text-based course we’ll be studying the darker parts of our sacred texts and explore issues of power, violence and colonialism. We will consider how a struggle-filled, personal reading of the Tanach can be used to create textured communities and lead to change within our society.
